It is a huge honour to serve as Chair of Knowsley St Helens Schools’ Football Association, and I feel very fortunate to also hold the position of Chair of the English Schools’ FA.
Schools’ football is unique in the opportunities it provides for young people to represent their local area and compete against teams from across the country. Knowsley St Helens has a proud tradition in this regard, and we are grateful for our strong relationship with Liverpool Football Club and the world-class facilities they provide for our players on a regular basis.
I would like to thank our dedicated coaching staff for the time and effort they give, the players for their commitment, and the parents whose support makes all of this possible.
Particular thanks must go to Anthony Daly, who as Executive Manager for all the boys’ teams continues to drive standards forward with energy and purpose. His ambition to raise expectations, strengthen structures and ensure that each player experience and the football is delivered at the highest possible level is evident across the Association. This website itself stands as a testament to that drive for improvement, reflecting a commitment to professionalism, communication and transparency that underpins everything we do.
Equally, I wish to recognise the exceptional contribution of Ian Latta, Executive Team Manager for the girls’ pathway. Ian has led the way in developing district girls’ football locally, raising standards and expectations, and guiding our teams to national success. His leadership has not only strengthened the girls’ game within our district but has also contributed to the wider growth of schools’ football across the region. As a Fellow and North West Council Member of the English Schools' Football Association, his influence extends well beyond Knowsley St Helens, and we are extremely fortunate to benefit from his expertise and vision.
The Association has always upheld high standards both on and off the pitch, and my hope is that we continue to build on these traditions, enabling young people to enjoy their football, develop their character and create lasting memories.
Finally, I would like to wish all of our players and teams the very best of luck for the season ahead. I look forward to seeing many of you at fixtures throughout the year.
Kind regards, Mr A. James
